Annie McDonald Chosen as IDSA Student Merit Award Finalist
Industrial Design Senior Annie McDonald was recently chosen as an IDSA Student Merit Award finalist.
“This is an extraordinary accomplishment, and I could not be prouder of Annie” said Tsailu Liu, head of the Department of Graphic Design and Industrial Design, and Professor of Industrial Design. “This process was competitive, and the caliber of the students chosen to win awards reflects Annie’s place among the nation’s top industrial design students.”
The Industrial Design Society of America (IDSA) annually recognizes exceptional student design talent through its Student Merit Awards program. This national competition seeks to highlight the very best creativity, problem solving, and design brilliance in each of IDSA’s five North American Districts.
Students are chosen for demonstrating tremendous talent and breadth of skill, and embodying the industrial design program they represent. Being selected as an SMA Finalist is a significant achievement and instantly positions each of these individuals at the top of their graduating class.
In Round 2 of the competition, one Student Merit Award winner will be selected from each district by a committee of judges from industry and academia.
