Annual Creative\u00a0Cloud subscription licenses are available to NC State students at $150.00 this year, instead of the typical educational discount of $240\/year the first year and $360\/year for subsequent years. Students will need to buy an annual license instead of using the monthly\u00a0payment option.\u00a0And students must use their NCSU Unity email address as their Adobe ID.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p><br class=\"\" \/><b class=\"\">Licenses purchased this year will expire on August 16, 2023, regardless of what date you purchase your license.\u00a0<\/b><br class=\"\" \/><br class=\"\" \/><b class=\"\">Students may purchase their license with a credit card by going to\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsuraleighadobe.com\/\">https:\/\/www.ncsuraleighadobe.com<\/a>.\u00a0<\/b>More\u00a0information is available at this site.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Access to applications is not immediate. Once the purchase is made, the vendor and NC State staff will have to process your access. You will receive an email invitation from Adobe within 72 hours of purchase. That email includes a link for downloading Creative Cloud. Make sure to keep an eye on your email and check the spam or junk mail folder.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/2fa\">Two Factor Authentication (2FA)<\/a><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Two Factor Authentication (2FA) provides more secure access to online accounts. NC State requires all users to enable 2FA for university account. Users are encouraged to use 2FA on any personal account that makes it available. More information and links to set up 2FA for your University accounts are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/2fa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/2fa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Video Conferencing Systems Available Throughout College<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vc520-camera.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2942 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/vc520-camera.jpg\" alt=\"VC520 Camera\" width=\"263\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>AVer VC520 video conferencing systems<\/strong> have been installed in conference rooms and our Digital Critique Spaces. These systems include a remote-controlled HD video camera and noise cancelling speakerphone. Save on your printing costs by using these display systems instead of printing large boards. <a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/docs\/digital-critique-spaces\/\">More information and instructions on using these systems is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/collab.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2346 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/collab.png\" alt=\"collab\" width=\"501\" height=\"509\" srcset=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/collab.png 501w, https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/collab-295x300.png 295w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Collaborative Learning Studios<\/h4>\n<p>The College also offers three Collaborative Learning Studios, providing 4\u20136 collaborative stations in each room. Users can collaborate in small groups or work together as a whole class. Each station is connected with other stations in the room and with a main presentation display.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Large Monitors Available in Studios and for Check-out<\/h4>\n<p>25 large monitors are deployed throughout the college for small group collaboration. In addition, the Bayley IT Lab offers several large\u00a0touch-screen display systems for check-out. These systems include a portable, adjustable rolling stand, so they can be used throughout the College.\u00a0The systems are\u00a0available for checkout through the IT Lab.\u00a0Try one of these monitors instead of printing large documents for your presentation or critique.<\/p>\n<p>Stop by the IT Lab in Brooks 203 and speak to an IT staff member for a demonstration or for more information.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Free Microsoft Office 365 and Windows Operating System<\/h4>\n<p>NC State has made arrangements with Microsoft to offer Office 365 to faculty, staff, and students. Access to Office 365 also includes downloads of Microsoft Office for various operating systems. For more information go to <a href=\"http:\/\/oit.ncsu.edu\/software\/get-ofc-365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NC State&#8217;s Office 365 web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This license also includes free access to Windows for students. For more information, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/software.ncsu.edu\/vendor\/microsoft\/package\/microsoft-windows-10-personal-machines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">software.ncsu.edu<\/a> site. You will need to log in using your Unity ID and password to access these sites.<\/p>\n<h4>Free Access to LinkedIn Learning Tutorials<\/h4>\n<p>NC State has an agreement with LinkedIn Learning (formally lynda.com) to provide free access for students, faculty, and staff to thousands of tutorials. Go <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lib.ncsu.edu\/faq\/how-do-i-access-linkedin-learning-nc-state-university-libraries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a><\/strong> for more information.<\/p>\n<h4>Free Google Earth Pro<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Google Earth Pro is also now free to all users. For more information, see our <a href=\"http:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/it\/kb\/google-earth-pro-license\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Earth Pro web page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Free Autodesk Products<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Autodesk offers many of its products free for students and faculty. A free Autodesk Education Community account is needed, but offers a long list of free software and other resources. For more information, see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autodesk.com\/education\/free-software\/all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Autodesk Education Community website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/docs\/audio-recording-room\/\">Audio Recording Booth<\/a><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">We have a quiet audio recording room located in the basement of Brooks Hall. The space has a dedicated computer, speaker\/microphone setup and MIDI keyboard that is suitable for recording audio tracks, instrumental play and MIDI-based audio\/music.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">This room is an ideal location to do personal interviews and voiceovers for lectures\/animations as well as Zoom sessions for class and for job\/internship interviews. [<a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/docs\/audio-recording-room\/\">more info&#8230;<\/a>]\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/docs\/audio-recording-room\/\">Reserve the audio recording room<\/a> <\/strong>through the<strong> <a title=\"Equipment Reservation and Checkout\" href=\"http:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/it\/equipment\/\">IT Lab Checkout Desk<\/a><\/strong> in Brooks 203.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/resources\/3d-printing-info\/\">3D Printing<\/a><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The Bayley IT Lab offers 3D printing for students, faculty and staff. A variety of materials is available. Good planning is necessary in order to have projects printed, as some projects can take several days to process. Please stop by one of our Maker Spaces in the Bayley IT Lab, Brooks 203 or Room 118 in the 111 Lampe Drive building to see the 3D printers and discuss your project with the IT staff. <a href=\"https:\/\/academics.design.ncsu.edu\/it\/resources\/3d-printing-info\/\">More information available here.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>StudioNet: Wired and Wireless Network Access for College of Design Students<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">All College of Design students are provided a high-speed network connection at their desk through StudioNet. There is no additional cost to students for StudioNet access. Wired connections are available in Brooks, Kamphoefner and Leazar Halls. Wireless connections are available in Brooks, Kamphoefner and Leazar Halls and the 111 Lampe Drive building using the University&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/wifi.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EDUROAM<\/a> wireless network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Students wishing to use the wired network must have an RJ-45 ethernet connector in their computer along with a CAT-6 ethernet cable. Cables are available at the <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.bookstore.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NCSU Bookstores<\/a>. Students wishing to use the wireless network must have compatible wireless hardware in their computer. Contact the College of Design Information Technology staff for help.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Students wanting to use a wired network connection should contact the College IT staff for help. Many times this type of file sharing includes copyrighted music and movie files. The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) and the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) file lawsuits against individuals who use their computers to share copyrighted materials. College students are prime targets for this type of law suit. There are cases against NC State students which have cost them thousands of dollars. In order to comply with federal law, NC State must identify the owner of any computer caught sharing copyrighted material.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Also, many of these file sharing programs open up computers to attacks and viruses. It&#8217;s safer just to get rid of these programs. The College of Design IT staff cannot take to time to repair your computer from damage caused by these applications. So, don&#8217;t risk lawsuits, hacks, and viruses! Get rid of your file sharing applications. They&#8217;re not worth it.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Thanks for reading!
