\"\"<\/a><\/span>How do\/have technological networks affect\/affected graphic design?<\/em><\/h4>

Great question! For our first studio assignment of the semester, each group was given a provocation to explore. “Mapped”, was the verb that was used in order for us to introduce our findings to others in the classroom. Through our research my group decided that technological networks have:<\/p>\n

1. expanded the practice\/community\/discipline of graphic design (as well as culture in general)<\/h4>\n

2. lead to greater participation\/collaboration<\/h4>\n

3. are often unstable and changing<\/h4>\n<\/div>

Therefore, with the themes of unstable, expansive and participatory, we decided to share our research through the creation of Eames cards. During this process we realized that our cards were more of a participatory tool helping start conversation about technological networks and the impacts on graphic design.<\/p>\n

Our Conditions are as follows:<\/h4>

2 or more participants<\/p>

Draw a provocation, and use the cards to respond\/answer\/relate to the provocation drawn.<\/p>

When you dind yourself stuck, draw a new provocation. Connect it to your existing structure and continue building.<\/p>

The goal is to build a network of issues and ideas that informs your understanding about the relationship between graphic design and technological networks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We brought VR into it as a way of moving beyond the the tangible and expanding the way of thinking about the structure or conversation that\u2019s been built. Check out the VR portion here!<\/a><\/p>\n
