A new ingredient yes, but it is important to not overuse that ingredient. Machine learning can get in the way of the creative process. An example from the video is adobe photoshop giving you a list of tools at the bottom of a document for a “better user experience”. Another way is platforms organizing and editing photos for you. This can be an easy way out for some, but for others it takes away from creating. Big Design

Data is all around us machine learning (ML) collects all this information about us in different ways. Using statistical models to analyze patterns in existing data and then make predictions based upon the results. ML empowers the computer to observe and analyze behavior happening in the physical or digital world. As we look at our phones we see websites/applications such as Grammarly, Amazon, and Tik-Tok that give us suggestions everyday. Mostly everything we utilize today is some sort of recommendation and that ML is adapting to our needs and wants. Natural language processing analyzes these behaviors; this sense of understanding enables computers to learn human to human conversation transforming it into a chat bot. We have all communicated with Siri,Alexa, and Google home but where is the emotion with the software. Emotion can have a deep connection between the human and machine so over time will machine learning have an emotional state when having a conversation with a human?

Quotes from reading

“When should designers encourage emotional bonding with AI and when should they actively discourage it?”

“Might humans eventually shift their decision making process entirely over to machines, losing the ability to make crucial choices?
