Bayley IT Lab Renovation 2014

On April 17, 2015, the William Keating Bayley Information Technology Laboratory was officially dedicated in honor and memory of Bill Bayley, our long-time Director of Information Technology.

The College of Design IT Lab underwent extensive renovation in 2014. The glass walls in Room 203 were removed and the hole to the first floor was filled in. Three staff offices were built over the new floor. The classrooms were turned 90-degrees to provide more work space for scanners and printers and more collaborative space in the main room. Finally, equipment that was on the first floor in Room 108 for the Advanced Media Lab was moved to Rooms 202 and 202A. Room 108 was returned to much needed studio space for the College. This renovation has been talked about for many years. We are grateful to Dean Marvin Malecha and the University to see it come to fruition. Follow the progress here. We’re Baaaa-aaack…

photo 1photo 3 photo 1The IT Lab has moved back to Brooks 202–204! After moving out in May, a summer-long renovation, and moving back, the Bayley IT Lab is back in business. (Thanks to Dean Malecha and University for the significant investment. And thanks to the summer work crew for the moving help! We couldn’t have done it without you.)

Stop by and take a look and the new classrooms/labs, new research space, new Cintiq lab, and work space, new tables, new RED chairs, new staff offices, new cabinets… Lots of newness! Check it out.
