I think to say that individual creativity being sacrificed because of our choices to focus on the big picture of social stability is overly dramatic. We are choosing to work for organizations or businesses that focus on the big picture. We do not have to make that choice. The world we live in now is collaborative, and that is how we want it, usually. If we need time to ourselves, we take a break and do something just for us. Everything is our choice. It is wrong to place the blame on others you work with or the brand mission you work for instead of admitting that our choices in the art of making have changed because we want them to change. There are ways to integrate our individual creative growth needs with our big picture focused tendencies. For instance, find a hobby in your free time that feeds your creative thinking, such as knitting or painting or reading. We just need to find that balance.
